Webinar on Boundaries for Library Workers
In May 2022, Appleton Public Library held a webinar with Dawn Behrend, Instruction and Outreach Librarian at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina, who also happens to be a clinical psychologist. They asked her to talk about boundaries for library workers in recognition of the fact that social workers get extensive training in boundaries and librarians get none! This may be a helpful way to reframe some of the uncomfortable, intimidating and concerning behaviors that all library staff experience from time to time and give staff additional tools to navigate these interactions.
